Paste a YouTube link, get an MP3 file. Free to try, no signup.
This page turns a YouTube video into an audio file. You paste the video's link, press the button, and a few seconds later you get a download link for an MP3 (or M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG or OPUS if you prefer another format). Nothing is installed on your computer or phone, and you do not need an account.
It works on one public video at a time, including YouTube Shorts. It is meant for audio you are allowed to keep, such as your own uploads, podcasts and lectures, music under a Creative Commons licence, and recordings you have permission to save. See "Before you download" below.
The number is the bitrate: how much data is used for each second of sound. Higher is better sound and a bigger file. A 4-minute song is roughly the size shown below.
The audio on YouTube is already compressed. A converter cannot add detail that is not there, so a 320 kbps MP3 will sound as good as the original YouTube audio, not better.
The page runs in any modern browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. On an iPhone, use Safari; the file lands in the Files app, from where you can share it or add it to your music library. On Android, it goes to the Downloads folder.
YouTube's terms of service only allow downloads that YouTube itself offers, and copyright law in many countries restricts copying music and other works without the owner's permission. Use this tool for audio you own, audio you have permission to keep, or audio released under an open licence. How you use the file is your responsibility.
You can use it free, with no account. Each visitor gets a few free downloads a day (3 at the moment). After that you can use KlipTools credits, from 2,000 credits per download. There are no ads to watch and no survey to complete.
Copy the video's link, paste it into the box at the top of this page, leave the quality on 320 kbps, and press Download audio file. When the result appears, press Download Now and your browser saves the MP3.
320 kbps MP3, which is the highest bitrate the MP3 format supports. The sound can only be as good as the audio YouTube holds for that video, so the result matches the original and cannot improve on it.
Yes. Open this page in Safari on iPhone or in Chrome on Android, paste the link, and press the button. On iPhone the file is saved to the Files app. On Android it is saved to the Downloads folder. No app is needed.
No. This page converts one video per download, so if the link contains a playlist, only the single video in the link is used. To get several songs, paste each video's link in turn.
The limit is the size of the finished file, 500 MB. At 320 kbps that is about 3 hours of audio, and at 128 kbps about 8 hours. If a long recording is refused, pick a lower quality and try again.
Check that the video is public and still online, that the link is a single video (not a channel), and that it is not live. Reload the page, paste the link again and retry. If YouTube has just changed how it serves videos, the download can fail for a few days until our software is updated.
The converted file is kept on our server for about an hour so that you can download it, and is then deleted automatically. You do not need an account, so the file is not tied to a profile.
It depends on the video and on your country. YouTube's terms only permit downloads that YouTube provides, and copying music or other protected works without permission can infringe copyright. Converting your own videos, works with an open licence, or audio you have permission to keep is the safe use.
This page takes a YouTube link. Video to MP3 takes a video file that is already on your device, such as an MP4 or MOV, and extracts its audio.
